Presentation Decks using Figma

The design team here at Devblock needed a solution to create hi quality presentation decks at a fraction of the time it typically took in a presentation tool like powerpoint or keynote. Since all of our design work (including our branding/design system) was in Figma we decided to make our presentation slides in figma and create components so we could work faster and use a single app, instead of bouncing out graphics and importing in a a presentation tool, then edit and repeat.

I should also note, that this was all created before Figma create theit slides feature back in June 2024. https://www.slides.agency/blog/figma-slides which has only make our process even faster.

Heres what we did:

First, created flexible slide components that make updating copy and visuals across multiple decks seamless. Each slide is built to support 3 themes—brand, dark neutral, and light neutral—allowing for quick theme swaps tailored to any presentation need. A quick flip of the theme changes all of the background and text colors to an alternate theme.

By leveraging Figma’s color variables, we ensured that all color combinations meet WCAG AA accessibility standards.

Figma Design System for decks

This system also extends to Figma Slides, enabling team collaboration without requiring everyone to have a full editor seat—streamlining the process for non-designers to contribute.
