Wondery – An Amazon Music Division.

Following the successful 2016 launch of Wondery, one of the largest independent podcast publishers in the world, Diamond became the design and development partner to Wondery.com and the native mobile apps.

Product Challenge

In 2019, Wondery asked Diamond to make updates to the Memberful WordPress Plugin Customization that provides custom private RSS feeds in anticipation of launching annual and monthly subscription plans for its two existing RSS feeds.


The UX Strategy was to break down all the pages into their desired functions, design consistent UI patterns and experiences around these functions, and release the work in a phased approach.

Not only were the design systems we built at the atomic level, but every atom, molecule, organism and template or module was WCAG AA Compliant.

Upon successful launch of the subscription service, this led to our design team being tasked with the design and discovery of Wondery +. An intuitive and premium product featuring an all new purchase flow, discovery, playback experience and account management interface which would assist Wondery achieve its goal of not only retaining subscribers, but also increasing engagement time and listening time within the Wondery App. This allowed Wondery to grow revenue while improving analytics to help make data-driven decisions for the future.

Known for its immersive podcasts, Wondery became the fastest network to join the Top 10 ranker by Podtrac, propelled by hit shows such as Dr Death, Dirty John, American History Tellers, Business Wars, The Shrink Next Door and Gladiator. Twenty of Wondery’s shows have reached # 1 on Apple Podcasts, and Wondery is the only publisher to have simultaneously claimed the # 1 and # 2 ‘Top New Podcasts” slots on an annual Podtrac ranker.
